The bark Catalpa, captained by George Anthony, was a three-masted, 90-foot-long, whaler that sailed out of New Bedford Massachusetts, from 1852 to 1879. Here it is seen at the wharf in New Bedford. Stacks of shooks (un-assembled casks) can be seen on the wharf along with casks, wood and a horse and buggy.
