In 1912, Laura moved back to Edgartown with her son Carleton after her husband's death. Laura opened a small antique shop and tea room at her home nicknamed "The Bungalow" on South Summer Street in Edgartown. There, she served as a gracious hostess at her "Tea Garden in the Pines" and sold heirlooms.
