This printed testimonial for a panorama show of South Seas Whaling was signed by many important people in Boston, Massachusetts, including the Mayor Elect, school committee members, newspaper editors, lawyers and the superintendents of the Boston Public Schools and Sabbath School of Boston. Precursors to modern day motion pictures, panoramas were long paintings on rollers, which would be cranked out to create a moving illustration to accompany a narration.
