Martha's Vineyard Museum
Prior to sailing on its 5th whaling voyage, someone marked up this catalog of articles for a whaling voyage. It appears to be an inventory of what was on board, as the front cover is inscribed with a note asking "Mr. Spooner please ascertain what is on the next ship before you mark the book for there is many things marked that is not in the good ship Virginia."
The catalog is broken into different categories, including provisions and cabin stores, medical, sundries, iron hoops, boats and lumber, tools and hardware, sail needles, nails, miscellaneous, tin ware, blocks, cordage, crockery, craft & c., sails and duck, articles for recruits, and slops.
