Life and health is spar,d to me and I am again permited to write and Oh may it reach you my dearest friend in health and pros perity, I have this afternoon receivd a letter that you wrote last winter per ^way New Orleans I have enjojed read ing it much all the feelings you express I believe & can symphathyse with you, but it will be for no use for me to attempt to tell you how much I have want,d you with me or how much I have suffer_d in body and mind and while I mourn your absence I am not unmindful of my many verry many blessings you wrote of my confinement through the winter from society it is true I have not been out but very ofen times
